Tea Ceremony Experience in Japanese Dept.
On February 19th (Tue) and 21st (Thu), students of the Japanese Department experienced the tea ceremony!
Mr. Soukei Fushida and his wife visited us from Kyoto as our tea ceremony teachers✨
Mr. Fushida told us about his recent visit to the United Nations in New York where he entertained Secretary General Guterres with a tea ceremony, talked about the Japanese spirit of the tea ceremony, and made tea for the students.
After watching him make tea, the students enjoyed the sweets and then made tea themselves😊✨
The students drank tea made by the teacher and were surprised to find that it was completely different from the tea they made themselves.
Although it was difficult sitting in Seiza posture, some of the students did their best until the end.
It was a great experience for them before graduation.
